One of Koh Chang’s largest and best reviewed dive centres is now for sale. Not only does the buyer get a fully operational 5 Star PADI scuba diving business they also take over the running of a popular 30 room resort nearby.
The Dive Centre:
This is a fully operational, fully licensed dive business, run through a Thai registered company. The business was established in 2012 and grew to become one of the most popular dive companies on the island. Two custom built, 20+ metre dive boats, plus a tender, are included in the sale.
Likewise the new owner will take over the running of three fully stocked shop units located around Koh Chang. Plus the website which ranks highly on Google searches. The business page on Tripadvisor has over 130+ positive comments and recommendations. All top quality dive equipment is included including over 120 tanks and two Bauer compressors.
Contracts are in place with resorts, agents and other dive centres.
A taxi car, used to pick up divers is also included in the sale.
The resort was established over 15 years ago. The current owner has extensively renovated room and replaced older bungalows. In total there are 30 rooms. There are 19 Aircon rooms and bungalows, all with sea views and 11 more basic Fan rooms which are in the form of ‘glamping’ tents. These are fully furnished tents with great sunset views – ideal for visitors looking for a funky, unique alternative to a budget hut.
The target market are guests who value a clean, value for money room in peaceful location over luxury. The rooms are also used for divers, as free accommodation is provided with people taking certain PADI courses.
The resort also has a large seafront restaurant and small plunge pool where guests can cool off. Owner and staff accommodation, for up to 8 staff, is also included at the resort. The resort is built on leased land. There is 6 years remaining on the current 10 year lease which is registered at the local land department. The seller is on good terms with the landlord but there is no guarantee that the land lease will be extended further. The terms of a contract renewal would need to be negotiated with the landlord closer nearer the end of the lease term.
